I am looking at the Mossberg pump 535 and 835 waterfowl models.  Can anyone recommend one over the other.  I know the 535 is lighter and 835 heavier but am not sure what the other differences are.  I would be using primarily for goose and duck hunting.

I'm not a Mossberg guy.  at one point in my life I owned the Mossberg 9300.  it was an autoloader.  I assume the two models you mention are pumps.  so.........we aren't comparing apples to apples.  the autoloader was without a doubt the worst firearm I've ever owned.  it only stayed with me for a season.  totally unreliable.

hopefully some Mossberg pump guys can help you out.   good luck

I own a Mossberg 935. I love this gun, I told my brother to get it and he had nothing but problems he ended up turning it back in and got a Remington versa max, that gun is nice that will be my next gun.

I hunted with the 835 for years .
Worked great for me. And death on Snows,Canadas and turkeys with the 3 1/2's.

the difference in those 2 guns is the 835 has an over-bored barrel, basically a 10 gauge barrel to reduce recoil. I have a 535 and have had no problems with it.

I love my 535, I have hunted everything with it from ducks, gesse, turkeys, to deer here in Iowa.  But Hammer1 is right the only real difference is the Overbored barrel.  Mossberg pumps are great, I wish my 935 worked as well as the 535.
