found and purchased a new browning a5 the other day. just wondering if anyone else has gotten one and what there opions are on it.  seem like nice gun really light. has a pretty good kick to it i think but shot it 5 times and barrel was really hot not really noticed that on my other guns. is that somethin normal to be excessivly hot?

Bought mine about 4 months ago. Very light and shoulders like a dream for me.  Ive shot about 200 rounds of 2 3/4 at the range.(skeet and sporting clays) cycles smooth and quick on those doubles.  I did have a jam while using the quick load feature once but have used it many times since and have had no problems.  Overall I am very happy with the gun and cant wait  to bring out to the blind and put some hard use on it.  Barrel did get hot but nothing i haven't experienced with other shot guns in the past.

Yes sir.  3.5 inch with a 28 inch barrel. Real tree max-4 camo.  Probably wont be using the 3.5's for any duck hunting, but geese and turkey you bet

It's an inertia driven gun right? Where is the gas going to go- down the barrel. With a gas operated, the gas must go through the piston, so some of the heat is "dissipated" that way. I wouldn't worry about it at all though. I had a Super Black Eagle 2 that would do the same thing.
