Has anyone ever built a floating blind?  How difficult is it to do?  Any suggestions will be great.

I have built two in the last three years and I'm trying to get started on another one.  What kind of water are you wanting to use it in.  Lake, river, ect.  How many people do you want to hunt at a time and what is your budget.  My new version I'm wanting to start on is going to be about $600.  Im welding it myself.  I have also made them out of wood.  Give me some details and I will be more than happy to help you out.

A bad day in the blind beats a good day at work.

I am only wanting to get 3 maybe 4 people in it.  I will be putting it in a lake around here in NE Texas SW Arkansas.  I have about $1000 budget to work with on it.  Thanks for the help.

what are you using for floatation. I have used steal drums but plastic dock floats work best.  Is there somewhere around that builds or repairs floating docks.  Call or swing by one of those places and you can probably get what you need cheap or free.  They usually have used ones laying around and thats what you are after.  Either two 3x8 or 4x8  or you can get 4 3x4 or 4x4.  16 to 18 inches thick will be more than sufficient.  How much room are you wanting.  Is this a no frills hunting blind or the ritz.  I would go 12ft long by 8 ft wide.  That is a ton of room but the width will help make it more stable.
